Lighthouse Woodturners Meeting

Lighthouse Wood

I recently joined a great group of woodturners called Lighthouse Woodturners. We meet on the second Saturday of each month to share projects and see a demo on the lathe. We even have members who bring wood to share. I recently scored some cypress and cherry.

This months demo was done by the club president Larry. He showed us how to do off-center turning. It definitely creates some unique turnings! Below are a few pictures of some show and tell items along with pictures from Larry’s demo. Enjoy!

When turning off-center, you use two apposing points from the center axis. This creates a wobble effect.
