Woodturning: A White Oak Bowl

This week I turn a sweet piece of spalted oak into a large bowl. It definitely maxed out my Nova Comet ii lathe! While this piece is beautiful, it’s definitely punky! This created a few issues while turning. Some areas blew out a little while others started to crack. I didn’t show it, but I used 5 minute epoxy to fill any voids or bad spots. Everything help together and worked out pretty well.
